What is Kefir Water?

Water Kefir is made from kefir grains, sugar, minerals and water. After about 48 hours of fermentation, the kefir grain culture converts the sugar and minerals it feeds off of into an effervescent, probiotic health beverage. This elixir of sorts contains high amounts of B vitamins, probiotics and other gut health benefits.

Unlike similar products like Kombucha or Jun, Kefir Water contains zero caffeine and even lower amounts of alcohol ferment, making it an easier alternative for children and those highly sensitive with energy substances. 1. "Where do you source your kefir grain cultures"?
Answer: The founders sourced Rawk Star Creations kefir grains originally from a family member who passed them down. Rawk Star then combined those cultures with another kefir culture source which follows Non-GMO and organic practices in their facility.

2. "Is kefir water the same as kombucha? What are the differences"?
Answer: They are each completely different cultures that produce completely different products. Kefir water is the product of a symbiotic relationship between a specific bacteria and yeast culture that feeds off of minerals and sugar. Though the culture is often referred to as "kefir grains" that reference only describes it's physical appearance, not that they are a grain themselves like wheat or barley. These grains are completely "grain free" and contain no wheat or gluten derivatives themselves. Once the grains have fermented over a specific period of time, they are then strained from the water kefir product and given brand new sugar and water to feed again and continue multiplying in culture. The kefir water is then fermented a second time without it's grains to complete it's process in creating effervescence and flavor!

Kombucha, on the other hand, is the product of a DIFFERENT symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY). Though it's origin is still unknown many have found the culture had been passed down for hundreds of years, if not more. This culture must feed off sugar and brewed tea to survive. Kombucha also takes much longer to complete it's fermentation process that kefir water. Though both kefir and kombucha are brewed and fermented nearly exactly the same, their properties and flavors tend to range much different from each other.

3. "Is Kefir Water safe for kids? Is there any alcohol?
Answer: Yes, it is completely safe for the consumption of kids! Rawk Star Creations tests it's kefir water regularly to ensure that the alcohol content that occurs during fermentation is lower than .5 %, which it has not reached since the day of it's first ferment. According to the Food and Drug Administration, the legal line in the sand separating the booze from the non-booze is no higher than .5% alcohol content.

4. "What health benefits might I notice from drinking Rawk Star's Kefir Water?
Answer: Among the obvious wealth in essential vitamins and minerals normal kefir water provides, Rawk Star Creation's Kefir Water has specific higher amounts and even more nutrients than "home brewed" kefir water due to the nutrient densities in it's Rapadura sugar!
